One thing I noticed is that the step for adding the cranberries is missing; I think it should go right before adding the cream. I also learned that I really need a pastry cutter for jobs like this. :)

I also love the smitten kitchen recipe, although I have only make it with chocolate chips. I came across the Queen’s recipe at a museum. I haven’t tried it yet, but let me know if you want it. So what is the story with the high tea I’m guessing high tea is not a common occurence in North Carolina.

I guess I have nothing against wedges; I’ll still happily gobble them up. But when I think scones, I definitely think slightly larger, rough, and round-ish, much like a biscuit.

I have been craving scones lately, and have never made my own – maybe I’ll have to see about trying this out!

But I do agree with Brad, they’re best when they’re wedges! I don’t know why, but it’s true. Though if you ever made dinosaur shapes, I’d at least try them… :)
